Wow!  It's been a very long time since I updated.  While Best Buy's Geek Squad is giving us a free consultation and system review, as well as a system check on our tv system, I'll take a moment and catch up here.

Went to Disneyland the weekend prior to Thanksgiving!!  Brea went for the first time.  Hannah joined us with her friend.  We also saw our niece, Aimee, who is finishing college and working at Nordstrom's.  Saw Jeff and his new fiancee.  Stayed with the Gramm's.

Seems like we've already had Christmas with the gorgeously Christmas decorated Disneyland.  All the lights, wreaths, Christmas music, cold weather at night, fun with family and friends.

Now that we are home I'm decorating the tree and home.  It's a fine balance between getting out all the decorations and remembering that I have to put it all back.  Having my sons help me makes it fun.  My sons make everything more fun!

Gotta go for now.

    Merry Christmas!

We caught a grey fox!!  It made so much noise that the dogs wouldn't settle down until 3 a.m. when the fox was finally quiet.

Since then our male dog, Duke, got sprayed by a skunk.  The grey fox was probably keeping him away.  Now we need to trap the skunk.  It will be a few weeks before the trapper brings us a trap because of 3 bears that are causing trouble.  Gee, I wonder if Goldilocks knows about them?

Today Duke had his tomato juice bath.  The fine winter coat which is coming in looks a little pink.  We've assured Duke that no one will notice.  And if they do, it's ok, guys sometimes wear pink.

Happy Daylight Savings Time!!  It couldn't be coming at a better time.  Looking forward to that extra hour's sleep.

Talked to the county trapper's office.  They're at a seminar this week and will call Monday.  There's a long list of people with animal problems this year, including bear break-ins.  We may not be a high priority since it's probably a raccoon.

When asking what we should do prior to them coming out, they suggested a shot gun which made my sons extremely excited.

So, Grampa's shotgun is now out of the safe.  Daniel bought some shotgun shells.  Coon hunting tonight.

We just came back from a very relaxing afternoon at the most beautiful lake in the world.

Upon starting the BBQ, we noticed that our male yellow lab, Duke, was bitten on his neck!!  Something made a 1 1/2 to 2 inch diameter bloody bite.  Tomorrow I'm buying some rat poison and disguising it to appeal to wild animals that climb over fences into backyards located in the forest.  I'm thinking that it's either a raccoon which would probably make a larger bite along with some very serious scratches.  Or possibly a very angry squirrel with an extremely large mouth.

Whatever it is, it's going down!  You don't mess with my animals!  This is now WAR!

The day has finally arrived......

Recently, I was diagnosed with A.A.A.D.D. - Age Activated Attention Deficit Disorder.

This is how it manifests:

I decide to water my garden.  As I turn on the hose in the driveway, I look over at my car and decide it needs washing.  Starting toward the garage, I notice mail on the porch table that I brought up from the mailbox earlier.  I decide to go through the mail before I wash the car. I lay my car keys on the table, put the junk mail in the garbage can and notice that it is full.  So, I decide to put the bills back on the table and take out the garbage.

But then I think, since I'm going to be near the mailbox when I take out the garbage, I may as well pay the bills first. I take my checkbook off the table and see that there is only one check left. My extra checks are in my desk in the study, so I go to that part of the house to my desk where I find the can of Coke that I'd been drinking.

I'm going to look for my checks, but first I need to push the Coke aside so that I don't accidentally knock it over. The Coke is getting warm.  I decide to put it in the refrigerator to keep it cold. As I head toward the kitchen with the Coke, a vase of flowers on the counter catches my eye.  They need water.

I put the Coke on the counter and discover my reading glasses that I've been searching for all morning. I decide I better put them back on my desk, but first I'm going to water the flowers. I set the glasses back down on the counter, fill the container with water and suddenly spot the tv remote.  Someone left it on the kitchen table.

I realize that tonight when we go to watch tv, I'll be looking for the remote, but I won't remember that it's on the kitchen table, so I decide to put it back in the den where it belongs, but first I'll water the flowers. I pour some water in the flowers, but quite a bit of it spills on the floor. So, I set the remote back on the table, get some towels and wipe up the spill.

Then I head down the hall trying to remember what I was planning to do.

At the end of the day:

      -The car isn't washed

     -The bills aren't paid

-There's a warm can of Coke sitting on the counter

-The flowers don't have enough water

-There is still only one check in my checkbook

     -I can't find the remote

     -I can't find my glasses

-And I don't remember what I did with the car keys.

Then when I try to figure out why nothing got done today.  I'm baffled because I know that I was really busy all day and now I'm really tired.
